How does Livit leverage AI?

As millions of people across the world start using OpenAI’s latest version of ChatGPT — GPT-4o — it’s the perfect time to take a look at how we leverage AI tools here at Livit.

It should come as no surprise that as well as being AI educators and producers of AI-focused events, Livit and Remote Skills Academy team members are avid users of various types of artificial intelligence throughout our internal systems. I’ve written extensively about how AI can unlock the future of not only work, but of education and living too, over on my personal Substack, so I won’t delve into that here. Instead, we want to walk you through the various AI-powered tools Livit utilizes to boost our operational efficiency as well as team performance and wellbeing. Let’s dive in!

  1. Grammarly

We think it’s safe to say that all our Blog readers will have heard of the writing assistant Grammarly, which is now almost 15 years old! When it launched in 2009 as a grammar-checking tool, it’s possible that some users were unaware that the program utilized basic AI-powered algorithms for grammar-checking and language processing. As technology has advanced and Grammarly has evolved, it has incorporated more sophisticated AI algorithms to enhance its writing assistance functions, such as style and clarity suggestions and plagiarism detection.

From emails to report writing, Livit team members use Grammarly for their text-based tasks. With its real-time, context-aware writing assistance, the program helps them communicate more effectively and confidently. Yosephine Anastasya, in charge of Talent Acquisition and Talent Management at Livit, says:

“Grammarly makes my life so much easier! From documents to Slack messages, it can give lightning-speed corrections, so I don’t have to read everything I’ve written multiple times to find any spelling mistakes. It is super useful for those with clumsy fingers like me 😉

  1. ChatGPT

The world’s most popular AI tool, the launch of ChatGPT (GPT stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer) in late 2022 marked a turning point in AI-powered natural language processing and text generation possibilities, with some tech websites declaring that the platform “sparked the artificial intelligence boom”

The latest model, GPT-4o, allows users to interact with the tool through audio and visuals as well as text (the “o” stands for “omni” — text, audio and visuals.) While they would never wholesale copy and paste text generated by ChatGPT, Livit team members might use it to draft an email, generate ideas, or improve their writing clarity and style. Nafinia Putra, Livit’s Chief Marketing Officer, says:

“Using ChatGPT 4.0 has been a productivity game-changer for me. It is like having a brainstorming partner 24/7, which along with providing insights, helps me troubleshoot technical tasks more efficiently, allowing me to focus more on the strategic part of my role.”

  1. Gemini

Like GPT-4o, Google’s AI-powered chatbot, Gemini, is also multimodal, meaning it operates across text, audio, images and video. While it is currently far less known than ChatGPT, some tech websites say Gemini offers a more personalized user experience, as it aims to create responses that are aligned with individual preferences based on past interactions.

Some Livit team members prefer it over ChatGPT to proofread their writing, including Raymond Hasiholan, our Brand & Social Media Manager:

“I love how Gemini writes like a real person, not a robot. It’s also great that it shows how it came up with the answers -– it’s like getting a sneak peek into the process. That helps a lot when I’m trying to write different kinds of content and need new ideas.”

  1. ThoughtWeaver

Now that we’ve had 18 months of incorporating AI assistants such as ChatGPT into our work, we’ve learned that the key to a good response is a polished prompt. When composing one for a chatbot, I often use ThoughtWeaver, which lets you quickly configure complex instructions for AI assistants, resulting in responses that are much higher quality in much less time. Featuring a powerful (and fun) catalog of specialized assistants (such as the Incisive Analyst, the Devil’s Advocate, the Legal Analyst and even a biomimetic designer and research assistant), TW is my go-to partner when it comes to ideating, strategizing, brainstorming or weaving my thoughts together. 🙂

  1. theCoRD AI

Many of the world’s major companies — Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Amazon — employ team coaches to enhance their organizational performance and support team development. Here at Livit we’re starting to do the same — through the power of AI. Over the past few months, each of our team meetings conducted online has been attended by an AI-driven coach, theCoRD, which is now in the process of analyzing our meeting and team dynamics. It will provide us with recommendations for improving collaboration, decision-making, and team cohesiveness. We’re looking forward to receiving our first results!

  1. Canva AI

You’ve likely heard of Canva, the online graphic design platform that allows users to create a wide variety of visual content — especially as it’s known for democratizing digital design by making it accessible to a much broader audience. At Livit, we’re big fans of the AI-powered Enhancer feature for improving image quality and Magic Design for creating on-brand presentations in seconds. Here’s Raymond again, our Brand & Social Media Manager:

“It’s been a lifesaver for quick turnarounds and maintaining visual consistency.”

  1. AI Meeting Auditor

We are currently building our own AI mentor to help audit meetings and coach professionals on how to avoid the overwhelm and burnout that comes with poorly organized, too frequent, overly long meetings. We’re excited to be working on the finishing touches and have a group of beta testers currently helping with feedback. We can’t wait to share more with you when it’s time to launch over the next few weeks!

Keen to learn more about how you can make the most of AI in your work?

Although many around the world are still reluctant to use AI due to concerns about job displacement, ethics, security and/or existential risks, in this instance I often quote OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, who puts it like this: “What if everyone gets to have a job they LOVE and have the resources of a large company at their fingertips?”
